Nuclear Power Plant Referendums: Citizens of Kazakhstan Can Vote Abroad

Kazakhstan has opened 74 referendum polling stations in 59 foreign countries. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by the “Adyrna” national portal.

Kazakh citizens with active voting rights who reside in the respective foreign countries or are in those countries for personal, official, educational, business, or tourist purposes and possess a valid passport of the Republic of Kazakhstan can approach the diplomatic or consular missions of Kazakhstan where the polling station has been established.

Voting at Kazakhstan’s foreign missions will take place in accordance with Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Elections, from 07:00 to 20:00 local time on the day of the referendum.

According to the decree of the President of Kazakhstan dated September 2, a nationwide referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant will be held on October 6, 2024.
