The presidents emphasized strengthening trade and economic cooperation, including increasing mutual trade, attracting investment, developing cooperation in the fields of industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, construction, transit potential and transport logistics. The issue of cooperation in educational and cultural-humanitarian spheres was also discussed.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted that today our countries had established a strong and harmonious relationship that is an example of interstate partnership.
- The signing of the treaty on alliance relations shows that our interstate relations are at a high level. If we call the treaty a document of historical importance, I think it is not an exaggeration. This very important document opens up new opportunities for us and expresses the common desire of the two countries to strengthen mutual cooperation. In addition, the agreement on the demarcation of the state borders of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will be signed today. This historical agreement completely completes the process of formalizing the state border in the south of Kazakhstan in the international legal context, the President said.
The head of state noted that joint actions to strengthen alliance relations would make a significant contribution to ensuring stable development and stability of the entire Central Asia.
