On September 20, a historic event took place in the Kurti rural district of Ile district, Almaty region. A caravan of 1,000 camels – the largest in the world – covered a distance of 1 kilometer, reports Adyrna.
This caravan surpassed the previous record of 365 camels registered in China by almost three times.
The goal of the event was to revive national spirit, promote nomadic culture, and develop tourism.
“This caravan of a thousand camels is a historic event that showcased our nation’s great heritage to the world,” noted Almaty region’s Deputy Governor Bakhytnur Bakhytuly.
Guinness World Records representative Richard Stanning said it was the first time he had ever seen such a large-scale camel caravan.
“This is a world treasure,” he remarked.
This achievement became a major step in elevating Kazakhstan’s culture and tourism to a new level.
