U.S. President Donald Trump announced that on August 8, he will host the leader of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia at the White House as part of a “historic peace summit,” reports Adyrna.

According to Trump, this historic summit should put an end to the decades-long conflict between the two countries.

Washington will also sign bilateral agreements with both nations to jointly leverage economic opportunities that will “help unlock the potential of the South Caucasus.”

In March 2025, Baku and Yerevan agreed to sign a peace agreement. However, it has remained unsigned for several months.

Pashinyan and Aliyev held talks in Abu Dhabi on July 10. The meeting lasted over four hours, initially taking place at the delegation level and later continuing in a one-on-one format.
