The corresponding memorandum was signed by representatives of the project "Central European Logistics and Industrial Zone Celiz" and the Chairman of the Board of JSC "KTZ Express" Nurlan Igembaev reports the national portal "Adyrna".
The parties are confident that rail freight traffic between China and Europe is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. The growth in the volume and logistics of the transportation of Chinese goods arriving in Europe will require the development of transshipment infrastructure at the junctions of the narrow and wide railways. In this regard, the use of the terminal infrastructure of Zahony (Hungary) is being considered as a new route to ensure transit traffic.
"Kazakhstan is continuously working to increase volumes on all routes through the country. We are witnessing significant growth, the volume of transit container traffic for 9 months of 2021 amounted to more than 795 thousand TEUs and in comparison with the same period in 2020, the growth was 28%. Container routes through Kazakhstan are in high demand. Also, KTZ Express is working on the development of additional routes in the direction of PRC-EU through Russian, Baltic ports and TMTM, including new projects to export Kazakh wheat by container trains to Turkey and coal to PRC in open top containers and the countries of the Middle East, Africa, Central Europe in universal containers "- said Nurlan Igembaev, Chairman of the Board of KTZ Express JSC.
Rail transport also significantly reduces the burden on the environment, making it a key element in meeting today's environmental goals.
The Hungarian and Kazakh sides are confident that the development of transit traffic to Central Europe via Hungary will become a new impetus in the development of business relations.
