Kazakhstan will put a stop to any provocative actions aimed at undermining interethnic harmony and peace. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated this during the 34th session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, according to the national portal “Adyrna.”
“It is important to distinguish between rice and husk, constructive criticism and baseless accusations, inoffensive parody and vile insult. Everyone is equal before the law. That’s why we have consistently prevented, and will continue to strictly block, any provocations that threaten interethnic harmony and peace in our country. Some representatives of human rights organizations, bloggers, and journalists who try to present themselves as defenders of free speech are, in fact, engaging in provocation by constantly seeking political or negative undertones in domestic matters.
This also includes some of our former citizens who have left Kazakhstan and, from abroad, attack our people and even blackmail state institutions. They are simply working to justify the money they receive from foreign sources. Today, everyone is aware of this. You cannot build democracy using someone else’s money. No one abroad truly worries about our prosperity, democracy, or freedom of speech. We must understand this clearly,” Tokayev said.
The President also emphasized that Kazakhstan will address its own internal challenges within the framework of national interests and legislation.
“Recently, the actions of certain foreign NGOs were exposed, revealing their malicious intentions, greed, and lack of concern for Kazakhstan. Some well-known domestic grant recipients were also found to be involved in shady activities. We do not claim there are no problems in Kazakhstan. Like in any other country, we have issues. But we will resolve them not through someone else’s methods, but through our own national interests and legal framework.
I am confident that the majority of our people and our sincere international partners will understand our balanced approach. Ideological hatred is completely alien to our worldview. Our traditions, values, identity, and way of life unite our nation as a single historical, cultural, and political community, strengthening our unity,” the President concluded.
