The U.S. government has suspended a $2.2 million grant to Harvard University following an order by Donald Trump to halt federal funding and reconsider the university’s tax-exempt status. This was reported by The Guardian, according to the national portal “Adyrna.”
Previously, President Trump demanded that Harvard abandon its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs.
However, the university’s administration declared that such actions contradict the right to academic freedom and stated that it would not comply with Trump’s demands.
“No government — regardless of which party is in power — can dictate what private universities are allowed to teach,” said Harvard President Alan Garber.
