Renowned writer Mukhtar Shakhanov’s wife, scholar and educator Rozalinda Ashirbaikyzy Shakhanova, has passed away, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.
Rozalinda Shakhanova was born on August 25, 1951, in the city of Pavlodar. She enrolled in the Russian Language and Literature program at QyzPU and graduated in 1974. For nearly five years, she worked as a teacher and educator in a secondary school, teaching Russian language and literature.
In 1990, she successfully defended her candidate’s dissertation. In 1993, she received a second higher education diploma in the specialty “Kazakh Language and Literature.” That same year, she was awarded the academic title of associate professor.
From 1991 to 2004, she served as head of the Department of the Kazakh Language at Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev. From 2004 to 2008, she was Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work at the Kazakh State Women’s Pedagogical Institute (now university), from 2008 to 2011 – Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, and from 2011 to 2014 – Head of the Department of Philological Disciplines at the Institute of Master’s and Doctoral Studies of the same university. From 2014 to 2017, she was the head of the Department of Practical Languages at the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education of Abai KazNPU.
She authored over 200 scientific works, including monographs, textbooks, and teaching aids.
