The governor of the West Kazakhstan Region, Nariman Toregaliev, handed over the keys to 120 new apartments to the residents of Oral ahead of the Nauryz holiday. The ceremonial event took place in the “Akzhaiyk” neighborhood, where housing infrastructure is rapidly developing.
While congratulating the new homeowners, the governor emphasized that providing citizens with affordable housing is one of the key tasks set by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Currently, systematic efforts are being made in this direction in the West Kazakhstan Region. In 2024, five multi-story residential buildings with a total of 628 apartments were commissioned in Oral using budget funds, while 805 houses were purchased and allocated to residents in rural areas. Additionally, 900 houses were built, and over 2,000 apartments were acquired for those affected by flooding.
This year, the construction of 19 multi-story residential buildings is expected to be completed, providing housing for another 950 families. Additionally, 205 apartments will be purchased using the national budget to support socially vulnerable citizens.
“Today, we are commissioning a new 120-apartment building in the ‘Akzhaiyk’ neighborhood. This is a great joy for our fellow citizens ahead of the Nauryz holiday. A total of 25 multi-story residential buildings are planned to be built here. Overall, by the end of the year, more than 1,500 apartments will be provided using budget funds. Currently, construction on eight of them has been completed. We will also purchase 180 apartments for residents whose homes have been declared unsafe,” said Nariman Toregaliev.
One of the new homeowners, Gulzira Turtaeva, shared her excitement and emphasized the importance of government support.
“Today is a special day for our family because we have finally received our own home. This has been our long-awaited dream. We are immensely grateful to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for providing such opportunities to citizens,” she said.
It is worth noting that the ‘Akzhaiyk’ neighborhood is rapidly developing. Plans are in place to build educational, healthcare, cultural, and sports facilities in the area.
At the end of 2024, a modern rehabilitation center with a capacity of 150 people was commissioned, and in the near future, new socially significant projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents will be launched.
