Renowned writer Dulat Isabekov has passed away

Renowned figure of Kazakh literature, writer and playwright, Kazakhstan’s Hero of Labor, Dulat Isabekov has passed away at the age of 83, reports the national portal “Adyrna”.

The sad news was announced by the Vice Chairman of the Kazakhstan Writers’ Union, Qasymkhan Begmanov.

“Oh, my dear brother Dulat, have you really left this world? Just now, Estiyar Dulatuly tearfully delivered this devastating news to me. I have informed the chairman of the Kazakhstan Writers’ Union and other national leaders. I am now on my way to my brother’s home… Yes, the classic of Kazakh literature, writer, and playwright Dulat Isabekov has passed away. My deepest condolences to the Kazakh people,” he wrote on his social media page.

Dulat Isabekov was born in 1942 in the Sairam district of the Turkistan region (formerly South Kazakhstan region). He graduated from Kazakh State University in 1966.

Dulat Isabekov made an immeasurable contribution to Kazakh literature. His works, such as “Gauhartas,” “Qargyn,” “Darmene,” and “Apke,” hold a special place in the hearts of the people.

It is worth noting that unofficial reports about his declining health had been circulating on social media earlier.
