According to him, Russia has a significant numerical advantage over Ukraine, while Europe’s weapons stockpiles have been depleted. He made these remarks on the social media platform X, as reported by the national portal “Adyrna.”
Vance wrote that, along with U.S. President Donald Trump, he has been presenting “two simple arguments” regarding the war in Ukraine for three years.
“First, the war would not have started if President Trump had been in power; second, neither Europe, the Biden administration, nor Ukraine had a path to victory. This was clear three years ago, last year, and remains clear today,” Vance stated.
He added that Trump approaches the Ukraine issue based on “real circumstances, that is, facts.” The vice president also criticized Western European allies’ domestic policies on migration and censorship, calling them “an insult to the sentiments of most Americans,” while also highlighting “excessive dependence” in defense policy.
“Secondly, Russians have a significant advantage over Ukraine in terms of manpower and weaponry, and this advantage will persist despite additional Western aid packages,” Vance said.
Additionally, he emphasized that the U.S. has considerable influence over both sides. He argued that to end the war in Ukraine, “we need to talk to those who were involved in its initiation and support.”
“We believe that a prolonged conflict is bad for Russia, Ukraine, and Europe. But most importantly, it is bad for the United States,” the politician wrote.
In conclusion, he stated that based on the presented facts, “we must strive for peace, and we must do it now.”
“Trump won the election with this position, and in this regard, he is right,” Vance added.
