President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on the New Year holiday, reports Adyrna.
“Dear fellow citizens! I sincerely congratulate you on the New Year holiday!” Tokayev said. “Today, we are stepping into the quarter-century milestone of this century. This year, all people between the Altai and Atyrau will simultaneously open a new chapter in history. Our nation traditionally approaches this transition with goodwill and special excitement. The end of the year is a time to reflect, evaluate the past, set goals, and look to the future with great hope. This is a truly family-oriented holiday. Therefore, I wish for peace, unity, and prosperity for everyone,” he said.
According to the President, the Year of the Dragon was marked by significant events for the nation. Reforms in various sectors began to show results. New economic directions were set, and practical steps were taken. The manufacturing industry is growing rapidly, several major production facilities have been launched, and the investment climate has improved. Thousands of kilometers of roads were built and repaired, and the country’s longest bridge was completed and opened for public use.
“Our farmers harvested a bountiful crop, filling our granaries. The ‘Clean Kazakhstan’ campaign has transformed cities and villages. For the first time, the average life expectancy of our citizens reached 75 years. Significant work has been done for the bright future of the younger generation. Part of the National Fund’s resources was directed to children’s savings accounts. Over 100 new schools were opened, and many social facilities were built,” the President emphasized.
Tokayev also noted that Parliament addressed key social issues through legislation. Furthermore, an important decision with far-reaching implications for the country’s future was made this year—a referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant, which received broad public support.
