A total of 13.3 billion tenge has been allocated for preparations for the Winter Olympic Games, according to Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Adyrna correspondent reports.
According to the minister, Kazakhstan’s national team aims to secure 98 Olympic licenses across 10 sports disciplines for the upcoming Games. Significant funding has been allocated from both republican and local budgets to ensure high-level preparation of athletes.
“The total amount of funding has reached 13.3 billion tenge. Of this, 585 million tenge comes from sports federations, 5.3 billion tenge from the republican budget, 6.2 billion tenge from local budgets, and 1.2 billion tenge from the Tourism and Sports Support Fund,” the minister said.
In addition, to prepare athletes, the ministry has invited 13 highly qualified foreign coach-consultants from Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, Poland, Russia, and Belarus.
It should be noted that the Winter Olympic Games will be held in Italy from February 6 to 22, 2026. Approximately 3,000 athletes from 93 countries are expected to take part in the major international event.
