On December 30, a Jeju Air aircraft in South Korea returned to its departure airport during a domestic flight due to a landing gear malfunction, reports Adyrna.
The pilots made an emergency landing of flight 7C101 at Jeju International Airport. There were 161 passengers onboard. According to the airline, the flight will be completed with a replacement aircraft.
This incident comes a day after a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 passenger plane crashed on December 29. The aircraft had 175 passengers and six crew members, with only two survivors out of 181 people onboard. Following the tragic accident, a seven-day national mourning period was declared.
Jeju Air, operating since 2006, stated that such a severe incident had never occurred in the company’s history before.
