Kazhydromet meteorologists issued a warning to Almaty residents, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.
“On December 17, 2024, air pollution is expected in Almaty due to unfavorable meteorological conditions. Such weather contributes to the accumulation of pollutants in the atmosphere,” the statement said.
It is worth noting that unfavorable meteorological conditions refer to short-term meteorological factors (calm weather, light winds, fog, or inversion) that contribute to the concentration of harmful substances in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
