Protesters in Tbilisi set fire to the Georgian Parliament building. Information about casualties is currently unknown, reports the Adyrna national portal, citing APA.AZ.

Shortly before this incident, the Georgian Interior Ministry’s press service reported that demonstrators had broken approximately 10 windows of the Parliament building. Additionally, protesters used stones and other objects to damage the building’s metal fences.

Several media representatives are working on-site.

This opposition protest began on November 28, following Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s announcement of a decision to halt negotiations on Georgia’s EU membership until 2028.

On the night leading into Friday, special forces dispersed protesters using water cannons.

Later, it was reported that over 100 people were detained during two days of protests in Tbilisi.

Georgia’s current president, Salome Zourabichvili, stated that despite the expiration of her mandate, she does not intend to relinquish her powers.
