In the city of Kandyagash in the Aktobe region, a former imam and now a theologian subjected his wife to abuse and prevented her from interacting with her relatives. This information was shared by the woman’s sister on social media, according to the national portal “Adyrna.”
As written on the Instagram account abdulla_kz_kz, the sister claims that her brother-in-law constantly spoke to her sister about demons and hell, changing her beyond recognition. The abused woman fell ill, but her husband refused medical help, insisting on treating her solely through religious means, which worsened her condition.
“My perfectly healthy sister was beaten and driven crazy by her husband. She had done nothing wrong. She was very gentle and deeply committed to her faith, never interacting with other men. Her husband forbade her from talking to even her school friends. He removed her from family group chats. My sister was an obedient and modest wife, but in the end, she was left abandoned,” said the sister.
