It has been revealed that Alexey Ni, the former head coach of Kazakhstan’s national weightlifting team, has been banned from sports for life, reports the “Adyrna” national portal, citing 1bol.kz.

The coach is prohibited from participating in or leading any sporting events for the rest of his life. This decision was made by the International Testing Agency (ITA), established by the International Olympic Committee in 2017.

Alexey Ni was accused of providing doping to weightlifters Ilya Ilyin, Svetlana Podobedova, Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Maya Maneza, and Nijat Rahimov. The ITA’s final ruling confirmed this decision. Under Ni’s leadership, Kazakhstan lost five Olympic gold medals after doping retests.
