In the parliamentary elections in Georgia, the ruling party “Georgian Dream” emerged victorious. According to data from the country’s Central Election Commission, with ballots counted from over 99 percent of polling stations, “Georgian Dream” secured more than 54 percent of the vote, reports the national portal “Adyrna,” citing Euronews.

Additionally, the CEC reported that four opposition parties will enter parliament: “Coalition Change” with 10.80 percent, “Unity - National Movement” with 10.09 percent, “Strong Georgia” with 8.75 percent, and “Gakharia - For Georgia” with 7.75 percent.

It was also reported that the ruling party lost in Tbilisi, other major cities, and at overseas polling stations. Meanwhile, the opposition claimed that election results were manipulated. Three of the four opposition parties entering parliament announced that they do not recognize the results and have launched indefinite protests starting Sunday.

If the results are confirmed, the “Georgian Dream” party will hold an absolute majority in the 150-seat parliament. Billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of “Georgian Dream,” along with Prime Minister Kobakhidze, promised to restore relations with the EU, stating that Georgia could join a unified Europe by 2030.
