As a result of the introduction of water-saving technologies, 200 million cubic meters of water have been released into the Aral Sea, according to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation on October 21, reports the correspondent of “Adyrna.”

“Farmers in the Kyzylorda region saved nearly 200 million cubic meters of water through the use of water-saving technologies. This water was directed to the Aral Sea. It should be noted that this year, the region’s farmers applied water-saving technologies on 55,000 hectares of rice fields, while the total area of rice fields in the Kyzylorda region is 84,000 hectares,” stated the ministry’s press service.

It is also noted that during the 2024 irrigation season, around 1 billion cubic meters of water were sent to the sea, which is three times more than last year. Since the beginning of the year, approximately 2 billion cubic meters of water have been directed to the North Aral Sea. Currently, the total volume of water in the sea has reached 22 billion cubic meters.
