Starting in 2025, mothers with many children in East Kazakhstan will be able to ride buses for free. This was announced by Kuanysh Akramov, Acting Deputy Head of the Passenger Transport and Highways Department of East Kazakhstan, according to the “Adyrna” national portal.

According to the information, currently, children from low-income families in the region have this privilege. For this purpose, more than 178 million tenge have been allocated, covering 5,312 children with discounts.

“From next year, public transport on intercity and interdistrict routes will be free for mothers awarded the ‘Altyn Alka,’ ‘Kumis Alka,’ ‘Hero Mother,’ and the I and II degree ‘Mother’s Glory’ orders. The necessary funds will be allocated from the local budget,” said Kuanysh Akramov.

He also noted that the “Oskemen-1” railway station will undergo major renovations.

“Currently, project and estimate documentation is being prepared. Within this framework, the building will be fully renovated, and modernization works are also planned. The goal is to make the station accessible for people with disabilities,” said the official.
