According to the national portal “Adyrna,” Hashem Safi al-Din, who was expected to succeed the late Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, has also died.

On October 8, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the leader’s death. In a video address to the people of Lebanon released by his office, Netanyahu made the statement, blaming the movement for Lebanon’s ongoing financial crisis and urging the country to “liberate itself” from Hezbollah.

“We have significantly weakened Hezbollah, including killing Nasrallah himself and his successors,” Netanyahu said. The Israeli Prime Minister also spoke about Hezbollah’s weakened state.

Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s commitment to continue its fight against Hezbollah.

It should be noted that Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Lebanon’s Hezbollah organization, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on September 27.
