The president of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Gennady Golovkin, has been appointed the chairman of the new Olympic commission of the International Boxing Federation (World Boxing), the national portal "Adyrna" reported. The National Olympic Committee wrote about it online.
"In the course of his work, the head of the NOC of Kazakhstan pays attention to cooperation with international sports organizations regarding the issues of ensuring the transparency of World Boxing activities. In addition, one of his main tasks as the head of the commission is to keep boxing in the program of the Olympic Games and work closely with the International Olympic Committee to recognize the World Boxing organization by the IOC. partnership will be established," the report said.
It should be noted that World Boxing was one of the first to approve Gennady Golovkin's candidacy. In the near future, other representatives of the sports world will join the Olympic Commission and will make efforts to implement big plans to keep boxing in the center of the Olympic movement.
World Boxing was founded in April 2023. Currently, the organization includes National Federations from 44 countries of the world.
