The Russian ATB bank, owned by the ex-president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, might be subject to US sanctions. This was announced by the site Nege.kz, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
"The Russian bank ATB, owned by Nazarbayev, may be included in the US sanctions list at any time," said a report published on Monday.
As noted, about 30% of the 320 Russian banks are subject to restrictions, and this list is updated monthly.
"At the moment, ATB Bank has not been sanctioned, but the situation may change by the end of the year. OFAC is stepping up efforts to block financial institutions in Russia," said a source familiar with the situation.
