April 23 was approved as the National Book Day by government decree. In this regard, the Ministry of Culture and Information announced the "National Book" competition for the best books. The Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva wrote about this on her Facebook page, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
"Dear friends! It is known that the head of state gave the task to establish the National Book Day at the third session of the National Congress. A new holiday has been added to the list of public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan. April 23 was designated as National Book Day by government decree!
