British Foreign Minister David Cameron will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on April 23, "Adyrna" reporter reported referring to Gazeta.uz.

Negotiations will be held between Cameron and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov. The media reported that the parties will discuss close cooperation on key issues, including regional security and climate change.

In addition, the MFA addresses the topic of greater British participation in education, trade and business relations.

The British Foreign Minister plans to visit all five post-Soviet republics and Mongolia as part of his official visit to Central Asia. His visit to Kazakhstan is planned for April 24-25.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the European country noted that the main goal of the politician's visit was to expand cooperation in the field of economy and education, as well as to strengthen the independence of the states of the region.

Uzbek media reported that the British Foreign Office visited Tashkent for the last time in 1997. Malcolm Rifkind was the minister at that time.
