The day of uprising against the Soviet in Aksu

94 years ago, on March 27, 1930, the Kazakhs of the Aksu region of Zhetysu rebelled against the collectivization policy of the Soviet government, reported the national portal "Adyrna" referring to kaz.inform.kz.

According to official data, the number of Kazakhs in the Aksu region reached 1,000 people. The uprising was led by Egeubek Zhanbayuly, Kaldybai Kyliuly and Gali Satyrbayuly.

On March 27, the rebels captured Aksu settlement. The insurgents, who lacked enough weapons, were defeated in the conflict with the government forces, and they came  to the sandbanks and dense settlements near the city of Balkash, such as Zhaman Jamal and Kushikzhan. Cavalry troops followed the rebels and massacred them in the sand.
