Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Afghan government created by the Taliban movement, asked the Turkmen authorities to increase the supply of electricity to Herat province. This request was made on February 26 at a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. This was announced by "Chronika Turkmenistana" with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
Muttaqi requests to increase the supply of electricity through the Nur al-Jihad power substation, which was previously modernized by the Turkmen side. It is not known at what price Turkmenistan supplies electricity, however, according to Tolonews, a member of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment noted its low cost.
