On the occasion of Victory Day, Mayor of Zhambyl Region Nurzhan Nurzhigitov took part in the ceremony of laying flowers on the hero's monument in Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Park "Zhengis" in Taraz.
Along with veterans, frontline workers, a number of Jambyls gathered to commemorate those who did not return from the battlefield, deceased fighters.
At the same time, the secretary of the regional maslikhat, the mayor of the city, representatives of law enforcement agencies and ethno-cultural centers took part in the event.
The gathered people remembered the citizens who gave their lives for Victory with a minute of silence.
After that, the group led by the head of the region visited the Dank hall in the park and watched the concert program. A theatrical performance was staged here and patriotic songs were sung.
The Hall of Fame is full of photographs and exhibits depicting the years of the Great Patriotic War. More than 1 million 500 thousand photo genealogies are grouped in the building.
The pictures on the walls of the hall for the years 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944 and 1945 depict war scenes of that period.
