Reporters community asked Astana mayor Zhenis Kasymbek about construction of LRT work, "Adyrna" reported.
"The general contractor is a Chinese company. The same company will continue the construction of the said facility," said the mayor.
He also said that the general contractor would order the wagons.
"They also order the mobile part of the facility. As the general contractor is well-known, he will complete the project himself," said Zhenis Kasymbek.
Let's recall that the head of state emphasized the LRT project at the meeting on development of the capital.
"The work related to LRT should be completed as soon as possible. As I've said before, the LRT project was fundamentally flawed. But now we have no choice but to implement this project. If we stop the construction of LRT, the cost will be even more. There are no alternative projects. In general, I instruct the mayor's office to develop a comprehensive program for the development of Astana's transport system together with the Government," said Tokayev.
