Extraordinary elections of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held on March 19. This was reported by the press service of Akorda, the national portal "Adyrna" wrote.

By the decree of January 19, 2023, the head of state dissolved the seventh elected Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and appointed extraordinary elections of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan for March 19, 2023.

"Now 70 percent of Majilis deputies are elected through the party list, and the remaining 30 percent are elected from single-mandate constituencies. Maslikhat deputies in regions and cities of republican importance are also elected according to a mixed system. 50 percent of deputies are elected through a single-mandate system, 50 percent are elected according to the party list. And the district and in maslikhat elections in cities of regional significance, citizens vote for candidates from single-mandate constituencies. Thus, mazhilis and maslikhats will be formed according to a new model. Then the interests of voters will be fully protected at the national and regional levels.
