Kazakhstan's Danil Vasiliev won a gold medal in ski jumping at the Universiade held in Lake Placid, USA, "Adyrna" reporter reported with reference to Sports.kz.
Vasiliev won the normal ski jumping competition. In the first attempt, he took first place with 127.2 points, and in the last round he finished second (130.1).
In the sum of the two stages, the Kazakh overtook the Austrian Maximilian Lincher (251.4) and Timon Pascal Kahofer (248.8) and showed the best result of 257.3.
The results of other Kazakhstan athletes are as follows: Sergey Tkachenko - seventh (220.9), Nikita Devyatkin - ninth (216.2), Svyatoslav Nazarenko - 20th (147.3), Magzhan Amangeldiuly - 21st (144.5). Vasiliev's medal was the second medal for Kazakhstan at this year's Universiade.
