Today is the birthday of singer, People's Artist of the USSR and Kazakhstan, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR and Kazakhstan, Hero of Socialist Labor Bibigul Tolegenova, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.

Bibigul Tolegenova was born on December 16, 1929 in the city of Semey. In the family where the father played the violin and the mother sang, there was always melodious music. However, in 1937, his father Ahmet was arrested and disappeared without a trace.

Bibigul, studying in the 7th grade of evening school, got involved in work early, helped her sick mother and got a job as a cinematographer in the club of the meat processing plant. The main goal of the singer girl was to be close to art during work and to participate in the circle of artists. However, in 1945, due to financial problems at home, he transferred to the iron and tin workshop of the meat factory.

During World War II, scientists, writers, and musicians were moved from Astana to Semipalatinsk, as well as to all cities of Kazakhstan.  At one of the artists' shows, the Soviet writer GI. Serebryakova noticed her and she gave her the first music lessons.

In 1951, a student of the Almaty Conservatory was invited to work as a soloist by Kazakh radio. And in 1954, her teacher  Samyshino and she go to Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) to participate in the All-Union Vocal Conference. This event opens Bibigul's career in art.

After graduating from the conservatory in 1954, she was accepted into the troupe of the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay, and two years later, she became a singer of the Kurmangazy National Instrument Orchestra. Until 1971, Bibigul Tolegenova toured the entire region of Kazakhstan and the Soviet Union with the orchestra.

In 1958, she became a laureate in the competition of All-Union pop artists, and on June 6, 1967, she received the title of "People's Artist of the USSR".

On December 21, 1991, by the decree of the President of the USSR, Bibigul Tolegenova was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor along with the Order of Lenin and the "Hammer and Sickle" medal for her great contribution to the development of music. She was twice awarded with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (January 3, 1959), the Order of Lenin. Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1970), laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh USSR named after Kulyash Bayseyitova (1966).
