The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia responded to the Uzbek diaspora in Russia, who wanted to form a battalion to fight with Ukraine. The Ministry reminded that mercenary would be punishable by law in Uzbekistan, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

Let's recall that on August 9, the head of the Central Asian Society of Uzbeks of the Perm Region, Jahongir Jalolov, suggested going to war. He says that he plans to create a volunteer unit for Uzbeks living and working in Russia.

"The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation warns compatriots against creating volunteer battalions and participating in hostilities on the territory of foreign countries where criminal liability is established. The diplomatic mission informs about it in accordance with the article. Article 154 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan punishes the crime of "mercenary" - illegal participation in armed conflicts or military operations on the territory of a foreign country," the ministry said.
