On October 10, a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the Mindanao region of the Philippine Islands. This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), according to Adyrna.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 144 kilometers from the port of Davao, at a depth of 58 kilometers below the seabed.

Meanwhile, the U.S. tsunami warning system issued an alert about a potential tsunami. The waves could spread up to 300 kilometers from the epicenter, with coastal areas expected to experience waves ranging from 1 to 3 meters in height.

It is worth noting that earthquakes frequently occur in the Philippines, as the archipelago lies at the junction of several tectonic plates. The constant friction between these plates regularly causes underground tremors.
