At the World Boxing Championships held in Liverpool, Sanzhar Tashkenbay won Kazakhstan’s first gold medal, reports Adyrna.
In the 50 kg final, Sanzhar Tashkenbay faced Mongolia’s Battulga Aldarkishig.
Ahead, Kazakhstan still has six finals to go. So far, the national team’s medal tally includes one silver from Nazym Kyzaibay (48 kg) and two bronze medals from Viktoria Grafeeva (60 kg) and Eldana Talipova (80 kg).
