A solemn opening ceremony of the international exhibition titled “Inspiration Source: The Legacy of Nurgisa Tlendiyev”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great composer, conductor, and national hero of Kazakhstan, Nurgisa Tlendiyev, took place at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, reports Adyrna.
The exhibition showcases nearly 70 valuable artifacts from the collection of the Museum Association of Almaty. Among the exhibits are the composer’s handwritten scores, rare photographs, personal belongings, and the legendary “Dariga Dombra” gifted to him by Akhmet Zhubanov.
“Nurgisa Tlendiyev drew strength from the spiritual memory of his people while remaining open to the modern world. His work reflects the harmony of diverse elements – a value we all seek across cultures,” said Ernesto Ottone, Assistant Director-General of UNESCO.
The exhibition will run until June 19.
