Estonian scientists have developed a spray that protects against all types of coronavirus strains, according to the national portal "Adyrna" with reference to "Rostimees.ee".
"Laboratory studies have shown that the nasal spray protects against both the Wuhan strain and the Indian Delta strain, as well as British, South African and Brazilian strains," the statement said.
Mart Charter, scientific director of genetic engineering at Icosagen, said laboratory studies had confirmed that nasal sprays were equally effective against all strains of the coronavirus.
According to the WHO, delta strains are now widespread in Estonia.
According to the spray developers, BioBlock is an Estonian innovative product, the concept of which was developed by Icosagen researchers under the guidance of Professor Martha Charter.
BioBlock will be released soon.
