Deputies of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament considered and ratified the agreement on pensions for workers of the Eurasian Economic Union member states at the plenary session, the national portal Adyrna reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The above agreement was signed on December 20, 2019. The document is the result of deepening cooperation between the EAEU member states in the framework of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. Legal regulation of the issue of pensions for citizens of the EAEU when working in other member states will eliminate the current barrier to labor movement and will be an additional incentive to legalize labor activity.
After the entry into force of the Agreement, citizens of the EAEU Member States will be entitled to the same pensions as citizens of the state of employment. Each EAEU member state will pay (export) a pension to an employee for the length of service accumulated in its territory. The pension will be paid to the employee by the EAEU Member State, where he / she works, regardless of whether he / she lives in another EAEU country. The Unified Accumulative Pension Fund has been designated as the competent authority for the implementation of the agreement in Kazakhstan.
Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other EAEU member states will apply directly to the UAPF on all issues related to the appointment of pension benefits. Under the agreement, pension payments from the accumulative pension system in Kazakhstan will be made to workers of other EAEU states, as they transfer to the UAPF in the manner and on the terms established by the national pension legislation on an equal footing with citizens and foreigners permanently residing in Kazakhstan.
