Today, on April 21, Pope Francis, aged 88, passed away at his residence in the Vatican. The sad news was conveyed by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, according to a report by “Adyrna” journalist.
“At 7:35 AM today, the Bishop of Rome, Pope Francis, went home. His entire life was dedicated to serving God and the Church,” he said.
In mid-February, Pope Francis was hospitalized for bronchitis treatment at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. Later, his health worsened, and pneumonia was diagnosed. He was placed on a ventilator several times.
It is worth noting that Pope Francis was elected as the Pope in March 2013, replacing Pope Benedict XVI, who resigned due to health reasons.
