A gas-cylinder explosion in the restroom of a mosque in Andijan Region, Kyrgyzstan, has killed three people and injured ten others, according to the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, Adyrna national portal reports.
The incident occurred on March 31 at 12:19 PM in a mosque in Izboskan district, Andijan Region.
Preliminary reports initially indicated that six people were affected.
As a result of the explosion, three people (M.A., Zh.A., and B.B.) lost their lives, while ten others (G.T., A.A., Kh.Z., I.R., M.M., I.Sh., K.K., U.B., M.A., and M.B.) were hospitalized with injuries.
Additionally, the restroom walls and roof structures were damaged.
Local authorities, including the regional deputy governor, representatives from the Emergency Situations Department, the Interior Ministry, the National Guard, and the Health Department, arrived at the scene to manage the aftermath.
Furthermore, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Achilbay Ramatov and Minister Botir Kudratkhodjaev also arrived at the site.
A preliminary investigation into the incident is currently underway.
