Kazakhstani wrestler Zhamila Bakbergenova became a four-time Asian champion in the 72 kg weight category, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
She achieved this victory at the Asian Women’s Wrestling Championship held in Amman, Jordan. In the final, Zhamila convincingly defeated China’s Yuqi Liu, securing the title of the continent’s best wrestler once again.
Thus, Zhamila Bakbergenova has become the first Kazakh wrestler to win four gold medals at the Asian Championships.
Previously, she claimed victory in the Asian Championships in 2020, 2022, and 2023. In addition, she has also won silver and bronze medals at the World Championships.
