Renowned athlete and Member of Parliament Daulet Turlykhanov has stepped down as President of the Asian Wrestling Federation (UWW Asia), reports the Adyrna national portal.
During the federation’s General Assembly in Amman, Jordan, a new president was elected. Jordanian official Mohammed Al-Awamleh won the position with 34 out of 38 votes. He will now lead the organization until 2028.
Turlykhanov had held the position since May 2017.
Additionally, the Kazakhstan national team for the upcoming Asian Wrestling Championship in Amman has been announced. The tournament, scheduled for March 25–30, will feature competitions in freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and women’s wrestling.
