On February 16, two earthquakes measuring 4.7 and 5.3 struck the western part of Iran’s Khuzestan province. This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre on February 16, according to “Adyrna” correspondent.
The first 4.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 18:48 (23:48 Astana time). It occurred 73 km from the city of Khorramabad, which has a population of 329,000.
A few minutes later, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 was reported. No information has been provided regarding casualties or injuries.
