The number of fatalities from wildfires in Los Angeles, California, has reached five, reports the national portal “Adyrna.” According to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, the death toll could rise as the fire is not yet fully contained. Dry weather and strong winds are exacerbating the situation.

Currently, five wildfires are actively burning in the Los Angeles area. Approximately 150,000 people reside in the evacuation zones. The largest fire has been recorded in the Pacific Palisades area between Santa Monica and Malibu, covering over 60 square kilometers. According to Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone, the fire has destroyed at least 1,000 structures.

Many celebrities have homes in the Malibu area. It was reported that one of actress and singer Paris Hilton’s beachfront homes was completely destroyed by the fire, a fact confirmed by Hilton herself. Additionally, reports indicate that the homes of other prominent Los Angeles residents have been affected by the fire.

Late Thursday night, authorities reported another fire in the Hollywood Hills area, where the iconic Hollywood sign is located.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has prohibited flights over the fire zone, specifically barring access to the famous Palisades area and Malibu beach where the Hollywood sign is located.

Firefighters are making every effort to contain the blaze, but adverse weather conditions and increasing winds are complicating their work. Residents are advised to follow safety measures and comply with evacuation instructions.
