A resident of Ekibastuz had approximately 13 million tenge stolen, reports the “Adyrna” national portal.
According to the victim, the money went missing while she was hospitalized.
Police reported that the pensioner was receiving treatment in the stroke unit from November 28 to December 2. All the patients sharing the ward with the pensioner were questioned.
As a result, it was revealed that a young woman was involved in the theft. She accessed the pensioner’s bank application and transferred the savings to her own account. The suspect admitted that she hadn’t anticipated being caught.
A criminal case has been opened regarding the theft, according to the press service of the Pavlodar Region Police Department.
