Taxi prices in Kazakhstan are twice as high compared to Belarus and Russia, reports “Adyrna,” citing LS.
As of the standard tariff on November 6, the price for 1 km of travel across the country averages 310 tenge. In Almaty, the taxi fare is 325 tenge per km, while in Astana it is 250 tenge.
According to data from the Numbeo platform, taxi services are twice as cheap in Russia (149.5 tenge) and Belarus (149.8 tenge). In Uzbekistan, taxi fares are 147 tenge, and in Ukraine, it is 141.8 tenge.
In China, the price is slightly higher (170.8 tenge), but still lower than in Kazakhstan. In South Korea, the cost for 1 km of taxi ride is 279.6 tenge.
Taxi fares are significantly higher in countries like Turkey (327.7 tenge) and the UAE (333.8 tenge). Additionally, in the UK, the average fare is 780 tenge per km, in the US it is 841 tenge, in Nigeria it is 947.5 tenge, and in Japan, it is 1,400 tenge per km.
It is worth noting that the highest taxi tariffs are currently in Switzerland (2,100 tenge) and Bahrain (2,400 tenge).
