A DNA analysis confirmed that Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader responsible for organizing the October 7 attacks in Israel, was killed in Gaza, reports the national portal “Adyrna,” citing the Washington Post.

“Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader who organized the October 7 attacks in Israel, had been evading armed forces for over a year and was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza. His body was identified in Israel after DNA testing,” said an Israeli official who wished to remain anonymous, according to the newspaper.

Earlier, Israeli police mentioned that they were investigating a body that could potentially belong to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

According to EADaily, on October 17, the Israeli army suggested that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar might have died during an Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military reported that three people were killed in total, one of whom might be Sinwar. However, at this stage, “it is impossible to confirm their identities,” noted the IDF.

Later, reports emerged on social media claiming that Yahya Sinwar had been eliminated. Photos were shared showing a person killed in an explosion, with many external features resembling Sinwar.
