The 11th convened 14th session of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR was held, where the resolution "On measures for further implementation of political reform in the Republic", "On amendments and additions to the Constitution (Fundamental Law) of the Kazakh SSR", "On languages in the Kazakh SSR", "Deputies of the Kazakh SSR" on elections", laws "On elections of deputies of local councils of people's deputies of the Kazakh SSR" were adopted (8 deputies voted against constitutional changes, 26 deputies voted against the law on languages) 7 The Central Election Commission was established to elect and recall deputies.

Kazakh language as the state language:
