The Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev supported Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, after the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

"I would like to express my support to Pavel Durov and the Telegram team due to the recent events. On Saturday, it was reported that Pavel was detained by the French authorities for lack of content moderation and refusal to cooperate with law enforcement authorities,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

On behalf of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the minister noted that he has gained positive experience in interaction with the Telegram team.

"On behalf of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I would like to note the positive experience of interaction with the Telegram team. We have repeatedly successfully and promptly resolved issues related to the dissemination of personal data, the fight against drug trafficking and other illegal activities on the messenger. "The Telegram team is always ready to cooperate to ensure the safety of citizens, and is committed to the principles of protecting privacy and freedom of speech," he added.

He also noted that the Telegram application is a popular network in Kazakhstan.

"Telegram is the most popular messenger in Kazakhstan, it is used by more than 12 million people, which shows how important it is for our society. "We understand the importance of maintaining a balance between security and freedom in the digital space and are ready to continue constructive cooperation with Telegram," said Jaslan Madiyev.
